The Netherlands is known for its numerous canals, cheese, tulips, clogs and various interesting entertainment ;), but above all, it is a country that has a well-developed road transport system and is well adapted to the movement of oversized vehicles.
It should be remembered that in order to move such vehicles, it is necessary to meet certain safety requirements and road traffic regulations, i.e. oversize transport must be properly marked and secured, and the driver must have appropriate permits.
For information about permits, please contact our employees who will advise and arrange all formalities related to obtaining these documents for you. However, when it comes to the safety of the passage, below are the guidelines that will be helpful in preparing the correct marking of the set with oversize cargo.
If oversized transport exceeds the length or width, make sure that it is marked as follows:y:
1) when the transport exceeds 3m in width and/or 22m in length, it must be equipped with 1 or 2 warning lights at the front and rear. The light must be mounted in such a way that it is visible around the vehicle at a distance of 20 m from it (measured 1.5 m on the road surface)
2) additionally, when it exceeds 3m, it is necessary to mark the width (in accordance with Articles 130-133 of Annex VIII to the Regeling voertuigen) with boards with minimum dimensions of 42cm x 42cm or 28cm x 56cm or 14cm x 80cm with parallel white and red diagonal stripes not less than 7cm and no more than 10cm, and on each board at least one white light (vehicles in front) or red light (vehicles in the back), clearly visible both to vehicles approaching and following the transport (when the transport takes place after dusk).
Warning boards should be installed in such a way that the distance from the road surface to the lower edge of the board is not less than 0.25 m, and the upper edge
≤ 1.90m.
If it is not possible due to the construction of the vehicle, the distance from the upper edge of the board may be greater than 1.90 m, but not greater than 2.30 m.
The plates should be placed at the front and rear of the vehicle in such a way that they indicate the largest width of the vehicle with its load.
3) If the transport or the vehicle itself is longer than 22m, reflecting lights should be placed on the side of the vehicle along its entire length on both sides (the color can only be white or yellow), with the marking consisting of:
a) full contour marking
b) partial contour marking
c) continuous line markings (when the gaps do not exceed 1.00 m)
The line marking and the lower elements of the contour marking are installed no higher than 2.50 meters from the ground surface.
4)
in the case of loads protruding beyond the outline of the vehicle, the following marking should be used (in accordance with Articles 130-133 of Annex VIII to the Regeling voertuigen):
A board with minimum dimensions of 42cm x 42cm with parallel white and red diagonal stripes not less than 7cm and not more than 10cm wide, and on each board at least one white light (at the front of the vehicle) and red light (at the rear of the vehicle), clearly visible both for vehicles approaching and following the transport (when the transport takes place after dusk).
The warning plates should be mounted in a vertical plane, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, with the distance from the road surface to the bottom edge of the plate not less than 0.25 m, and to the upper edge ≤ 1.90 m.
If it is not possible due to the construction of the vehicle, the distance to the upper edge of the board may be greater than 1.90 m, but not greater than 2.30 m.
5) when the length of the vehicle with the load exceeds 27m, a yellow board with clear black letters should be placed at the rear of the vehicle:
