In the previous article we have prepared a vehicle for driving with dimensions in Italy. Here we will focus on preparing the driver to drive with a permit.
There are two types of Italian motorway permits:
– PORTA NORMALE (suffix PN in the permit number) – permits to pass through normal gates on the motorway,
– PORTA SPECIALE (suffix PS in the permit number) – for passing through special gates on the motorway.
We will focus on the second type (porta speciale).
Calculation of the toll for the size of the journey takes place in this case on the basis of yellow cards, filled in by the driver (the fields marked in the example below must be filled in).
At the first gate, a stamp is placed on the block, while at the last gate, the person at the gate will take a yellow card from the driver for settlement.

!!! You should also pay attention to the driving bans displayed on the motorway screens – if the driver sees the sign:
Neve – snow
Nebbia – fog (when the visibility is less than 200m driving ban)
displayed on the screen on a motorway, you should stop and call the respective motorway to confirm that the drive can be continued.
When they tell us something like that when informing about the passage through a given section of the motorway, it will also be known that you cannot enter yet.
The last thing is to check the driving hours.
